Any special in Korean restaurant in Japan? We had Korean BBQ at the first day in Wakayama. "Wakanshoku わらいや" located near JR Wakayama station, around 15 minutes by walk. In winter, we need damn hot food!
"Wakanshoku わらいや" is really popular for the young in Wakayama. Girls and boys would come here after school, enjoyed the mixed style of Korean food and Japanese food.
Pork Belly BBQ 山形豚のサムギョプサル JPY1706
We had pork belly BBQ first. In Taiwan, we customers do not have to cook it by ourselves. However, we have to DIY in Japan. Just put the whole pork belly on the baking tray, have some drinks first. Use scissor to cut the meat to bite-size. Put some vegetables, kimchi (Korean pickle with spicy), and some sesame oil for seasoning. Simple but yummy.
Tofu pot 豆腐鍋 JPY777
Spicier than the kimchi. Just like personal hot pot, the tofu were made in Korean, soft and tender, pretty good in damn cold winter.
Seafood pan cakes 海鮮煎餅 JPY842
The dipping sauce is too salty for me. In Korean restaurant at Taiwan, there are two types of Korean seafood pan cakes, thick and sheet. We people love thick one because of the chewy flavour LOL. Anyway, the bite-size squid and prawn were only fresh.We love the pork belly, drinks and tofu pot here. The staff were kind and gentle. Recommend who would love to try BBQ in Wakayama LOL.
